The 55th International Festival of Music and Dance, otherwise known as the Caves Concerts, is under way with the first four performances taking place on the Balcón de Europa in the centre of Nerja.
A number of changes carried out inside the Nerja Caves, including the removal of the old metal seating area, has resulted in a reduction in overall seating capacity within the caverns when it comes to the traditional concerts, so it was decided to expand the festival by offering a series of free concerts on the Balcón de Europa.
First up was the local singer Nuria Fergó, who took to the stage on Saturday night alongside the Málaga Symphony Orchestra.
On Sunday it was the turn of baritone Iñaki Fresán, accompanied by Juan Vicente Téllez on piano. The concert also featured the vocals of the Coral Alminares de Nerja with José Eugenio Vicente directing and solos by tenor Iván Villa and sopranos Carmen Vicente and Estela Vicente.
