The Council has acquired a total of 103 solid waste containers and a further 120 for use with plastic waste, these to be installed throughout the municipality in the coming days.
The new solid waste containers have a capacity of 1,000 litres, compared to the current capacity of 800 litres. These will be installed in areas where there is most demand as well as being replacements for older, damaged units.
The plastics containers have a capacity of 1,400 litres instead of 1,000 litres and are side-loading, leading to a faster and cleaner collection service. These will replace the old yellow containers.
