According to the latest, July survey carried out by the CIS, the new political party Podemos would attract the votes of 15.3% of Spaniards if a general election were to be held now, doubling their popularity from the recent European elections.
This would put Podemos in third place in the political hierarchy and only six points behind the PSOE. Although the PP continue to lose points, the PSOE vote appears to be imploding according to the pollsters.
The poll was, however, carried out a few days before the election of Pedro Sánchez as the new leader of the PSOE.
