Three men have been arrested in Sevilla accused of impersonating Guardia Civil officers in order to carry out at least six robberies in Sevilla and Huelva.
All the victims of the trio, a 63-year-old man, his 22-year-old son and a 59-year-old acquaintance, were allegedly linked to the drugs or tobacco trafficking.
The investigation began in May after someone complained that they had been robbed at gunpoint by men dressed as police officers, losing a large amount of money and tobacco to the gang.
The detainees are accused of robbery with violence and intimidation, illegal arrest, illegal possession of firearms, belonging to a criminal organization and usurpation of public functions. The gang have so far been connected to six robberies.
In raids, police recovered uniforms, badges, guns and ammo, wigs, fake moustaches and beards used in the robberies.
