TapeArte on avenida Castilla Perez, Nerja, opened on Saturday so, naturally, a visit was in order.
TapeArte occupies the premises formerly the home of the Saloon (and before that an Indian restaurant, Brazilian and Chinese restaurant). It is very large, on two levels, with a small terrace at the front and one at the back.
The tapas are advertised as ‘free’ and there was a menu of tapas for the week, seven or eight in total. I opted for a chicken kebab in a cocktail sauce.
I assumed, wrongly as it turned out, that this would be a skewer dish. The chicken and sauce were enclosed in a tortilla wrap. It was extremely well presented – almost Cordon Bleu style – and was very tasty. Not a huge portion when compared to many places these days, but very pleasant.
As a drink I had a sub-zero (-2 degrees) Amstel beer served in a frosted glass. Very refreshing.
The price? Well, as the tapas was ‘free’, that made a small glass of beer €2.50.
