A forest fire which began on Thursday afternoon in the Valle Salado area of Cartaya, Huelva, has been brought under control.
The fire began at 17:45 on Thursday and has destroyed around six hectares of pine and scrub land.
A forest fire which began on Thursday in Béznar in the municipality of Lanjaron, Granada, is now also under control and ‘evolving favouranly’. At one point the blaze threatened to spread into the Sierra Nevada Natural Park but its progress has been halted by the use of various air units.
