Police in Lleida have intensified the search for a man who yesterday stabbed a total of five people for no apparent reason.
The investigation is now focused on images from various security cameras and the statements of the injured, all of whom remain hospitalized, as well as the analysis of fingerprints there on the knife used in the attacks and left pinned to the back of the last of the victims, a man of Pakistani nationality.
The five injured people are of five different nationalities, although the mayor of Lleida has stressed that there is no apparent reason to suspect that the author of the stabbings was motivated by xenophobia and has asked the public to remain calm.
The main hypothesis is that the man, aged around 35 years and of foreign nationality, could be disturbed and is acting without motivation.
