Parents of students in Maro who attend colleges in Nerja have been expressing their concern at a decision taken regarding the bus service which means that the pupils are no longer dropped off in the centre of Maro but on the main road by the Nerja Caves.
Parents indicated that when they asked the driver why the change had been made he replied that it was orders ‘from above’. Attempts by the parents to get any form of response from the Junta de Andalucia have proved futile, as one might expect.
The Councillor for Education and Culture has also apparently tried to contact the Planning Department of the provincial delegation of the Junta de Andalucia, but also without success. The Councillor has promised to keep trying.
In the meantime, Local Police officers are assisting pupils to cross the main road.
