Members of the Andalucian parliament who are also mayors will have a maximum of one month to decide which of the two functions they wish to pursue once the Law of Incompatibility is published in the Official Gazette.
The Constitutional Court, to which so many laws and regulations seem to be appealed these days, has ruled in favour of the Andalucian Electoral Law which states that the positions of MP and Mayor are incompatible.
Once the judgement is published in the Official Gazette it becomes effective one day later and those MP’s holding two political positions will have to make a choice.
