Marc Marquez has retained his MotoGP championship title following a second-place finish in Japan on Sunday, and the 21-year-old becomes the youngest ever back-to-back champion in the premier class.
Repsol Honda rider Marquez won the title with an unassailable lead of 312 points in the overall standings with three races to go.
Spain’s Jorge Lorenzo won the race, with Marquez second and Valentino Rossi third. Rossi moves up to second place in the championship.
