Today was the official inauguration of the remodelled Cerro de los Remedios, home of the image of the patron saint of Vélez-Málaga, a project which took two years to complete and an investment of €2.7 million.
The total area of the new Cerro de los Remedios is 26,032 square metres, of which 60% (13,018 square metres) is park land with walking routes, gazebos, seating, viewpoints, a columbarium, a cafeteria and some 25,000 plants of different species.
The project involved 28 businesses and provided employment for 78 people from the municipality, with much of the materials used being locally sourced.
