The Council has signed three cooperation agreements with the Sisters of the Good Samaritan that will allow the arrangement of residential and daycare places for elderly people with limited resources or for those whose families cannot look after them for various reasons.
The Council will contribute €600 per month for residential places or for respite for families and caregivers, and a lesser amount for daycare places. Those in residential care will also contribute to the financing of their stay with 75% of their monthly income.
The Council has allocated the amount of €52,000 to implement these agreements and according to the Mayor, José Alberto Armijo, this reflects their strong commitment to the elderly in the community.
According to the Mayor, the Junta de Andalucia was originally going to arrange for placements at the residential home but, to date, has not fulfilled its commitment.
