Three workmen have been injured today, two of them seriously, following an explosion while they were working on a roof next to the Banco de España in Plaza de Cibeles, Madrid.
The incident was reported at 13:00 and early indications are that the explosion was caused by a welding cylinder. One of the injured, a 51-year-old man, suffered second and third degree burns to 40% of his body and is now in hospital in Getafe.
A second man is in the La Paz hospital having suffered second and third degree burns to 30% of his body. The third man was only slightly injured, suffering bruising.
