The Provincial Court in Málaga has refused to suspend the jail sentence of convicted money launderer Isabel Pantoja, although she now has three days in which to submit an application for reconsideration.
This is the last possibility for the singer, who has reportedly shown no remorse, to avoid serving a two year prison sentence for her involvement in laundering the illicit profits of her former partner, the ex-Mayor of Marbella Julian Muñoz.
The defence argues that Pantoja meets the legal requirements for suspension for suspension of sentence, namely no criminal record, no pending lawsuits and not being a criminal.
Pantoja was also fined €1,147,148, of which she has paid €100,000 and has asked to be able to pay the remainder in instalments.
