The Directorate General for Industrial Relations of the Junta de Andalucia has closed proceedings brought against Nerja Council for alleged wage discrimination in the implementation of the Social Exclusion Programme by the municipality.
Nerja Council was facing a fine of €26,250. The case went before the Labour Court Number 10 and the judge found in favour of the municipal authority. Many thought that the Junta de Andalucia would appeal the decision, as is usually the case, but they did not and as a result the ruling of the Court is now final.
