One man died and a woman was injured as a result of the strong winds on Saturday in Málaga and Granada provinces.
In Granada, a 70-year-old man died after debris fell on his head. The strong winds brought down several trees and branches in the grounds of the Alhambra Palace and the Ángel Ganivet sculpture, a work by Juan Cristóbal, was decapitated by a falling tree.
In Granada city, incidents were being reported all afternoon including the collapse of a billboard.
In Málaga. a 39-year-old woman was injured after a ledge broke and fell on her in Plaza de la Constitución. A number of falling trees and branches kept the Emergency Services busy in the capital, including a large tree in the plaza del poeta Alfonso Canales near the entrance to the port.
Winds along the coast reached gale force 7 at times.
