A 74-year-old woman had to be taken to hospital on Tuesday night after suffering smoke inhalation during a fire at her home in Benalmádena.
The fire occurred at 23:30 in a fourth floor apartment in Avenida Marisol. The property suffered significant damage in the blaze, thought to have been caused by a water heater.
Other residents in the block were asked not to leave their homes while the fire was being extinguished. The injured woman suffered smoke inhalation and was transferred to the Hospital Clinical although her injuries are apparently only minor.
