Nerja Council has reportedly paid the November payroll of workers under the Youth Employment Plan as no money has yet been forthcoming from the Junta de Andalucia.
According to the Council, the Junta announced at a press conference, and with a great fanfare, that Nerja would be receiving a total of €542,000 for the Youth Unemployment Plan. The central government apparently already transferred the funds to the regional authority some time ago.
The Council says it has paid €60,000 to the workers under the scheme for the month of November as otherwise they would likely not receive anything.
