In the 2014 Corruption Perceptions Index, put together by Transparency International, Spain has risen three places to number 37 out of 175 countries.
The Corruption Perceptions Index is based on expert opinions of public sector corruption, but, probably fortunate in the case of Spain, does not measure political party corruption.
The best grades went to Denmark, New Zealand and Finland, while the worst countries for corruption were Somalia, North Korea and Sudan.
