At the plenary session of the Nerja Council held on Friday, three motions were approved with the support of all political parties.
One of these motions was a request to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment of the Junta de Andalucía for a grant towards the cost of the projects necessary for the creation of artificial reefs along the coast of Nerja to prevent beach erosion. The costs of these projects amount to approximately 20,000 euros.
Another motion was a request to the Territorial Delegate for Environment in Málaga to budget for the refurbishment of the tracks to El Pinarillo and Fuente del Esparto, the projects to be financed equally by the Department of Environment and Nerja Council.
The third motion requests the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Junta de Andalucia to undertake the necessary administrative procedures to allow the opening of the new botanical garden at the Nerja Caves.
