Police have arrested four South American nationals, two in Benalmádena and two in Getafe, as the alleged perpetrators of at least 14 robberies carried out on the homes of Chinese residents along the Costa del Sol.
The investigation began in September and police discovered that the two individuals in Benalmádena were responsible for finding the targets, usually Chinese entrepreneurs with high purchasing power, and gathering information about security, daily schedules and so forth.
This information was then passed on to the two members in Getafe who would subsequently travel down to the coast to commit the actual robberies. At one home the thieves made off with €30,000 in cash and €40,000 worth of electronic equipment.
The investigation is still ongoing.
