The Maritime Rescue Service has assisted 19 North African travellers, including a minor, to reach the port of Málaga after their boat was located 30 miles south of the Calaburras lighthouse in Mijas.
The small pneumatic boat was located at around 01:50 on Saturday morning and at 05:00 they safely reached Málaga where the Red Cross was on hand to greet them.
Several of the passengers showed signs of hypothermia but none required hospital treatment. They are now in the hands of the National Police who are requesting the necessary permission to return them from whence they came.
