Five people have been arrested and four others charged in Montoto, Córdoba, in connection with the sale of ‘illegally obtained’ olives.
During the investigation police recovered more than 18 tons of olives. The detainees, all Romanian nationals, allegedly stole the olives from various farms in Montoro, Pedro Abad, Lopera, Marmolejo and Porcunaand and then used counterfeit ‘origen’ certificates to sell the olives.
The detainees are charged with misappropriation, theft and forgery.
