The next plenary session of the Nerja Council will debate and approve a motion put forward by the Local Government to name the new municipal underground car park currently under construction at Burriana beach.
The name being proposed is the ‘Municipal Parking Burriana – Aparcamiento Municipal Burriana’, which is unlikely to cause any party political friction.
The car park has three underground levels and one covered area above ground and has the capacity for 240 vehicles. It is being built with €2.6 million of State funding from the State Fund for the Modernisation of Tourist Infrastructure (FOMIT).
It is thought that, barring any last minute problems, the facility could be completed by early April 2015.
