A total of forty-two provinces are on alert this weekend for snow, frost or generally cold conditions, with the chance of rain in some areas.
There is a ‘yellow alert’ for snow in Burgos, León, Palencia, Alava, Alicante, Vizcaya and Asturias and a higher ‘orange alert’ in Cantabria with warnings of possible avalanches in Huesca, Lérida and Navarra.
There is a ‘yellow alert’ for cold temperatures in Almería, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, Huesca, Teruel, Zaragoza, Ciudad Real, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Valladolid, Zamora, Cataluña, Madrid, Navarra, Alicante, Castellón, Valencia, Cáceres, Lugo, Orense, Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca, La Rioja, Guipúzcoa and Murcia.
