A 48-year-old man from Valencia has been remanded in custody as the alleged perpetrator of the fire at the Hotel AC Córdoba which necessitated the evacuation of around 70 people from their rooms.
The fire began in one of the rooms on the third floor of the hotel and thick smoke necessitated the precautionary evacuation of guests on that floor.
Initial investigations suggest the fire was intentional and the detainee has been charged with arson, damage and undermining the authority of the police by resisting arrest.
