Lions Club members from all over Spain gathered at the Parador Hotel in Nerja at the weekend for one of their ‘Lion Days’.
The Lions Club – Club de Leones – are a worldwide service organisation with over 45,000 clubs operating in 206 countries and geographical regions and has an active membership of around 1.35 million people.
In Spain there are around 90 clubs and they carry out voluntary work in many areas. In Nerja, the Lions Club are involved in the collection of food, clothing and other items for charity, they organise the Sunday market and were responsible for initiating the Santa Claus procession in the town.
