World number nine David Ferrer claimed the ATP Mexican Open final with a 6-3 7-5 victory over Japan’s Kei Nishikori, number five in the world rankings.
Ferrer reached the final having overcome the American Ryan Harrison, ranked 169 in the world, in three sets, 4-6 6-0 6-0.
Nishikori reached the final at the expense of world number 15 Kevin Anderson of South Africa, the score 6-3 3-6 6-3.
