This isn’t particularly news but it’s one of them photos of Nerja many years ago that people love to see.
This scene is of Calle San Miguel, where the Mercadonna in the town now is and also the Guardia Civil and main Taxi Rank. The photo was taken in 1910. You can see the trees in the near left corner of Plaza Canaterero – what many refer to as the Orange Tree Square. One wonders what the chap in the street is thinking – surely if it was today he would have been run over by now, but back then the odd horse and cart would pass by once a day probably!
