Update on Nerja Beaches

Nieves Atencia, Councillor for Beaches has reported that the works for the installation of the walkways on the town’s beaches have been allocated. The Association of Municipalities of Costa del Sol Axarquía will fund this project.

Four hundred and twenty five meters of walkways will be installed in several of the town’s beaches, which will replace the current wooden walkways.

Besides the walkways, foot baths, showers and handicapped-accessible showers will also be installed. Three amphibious wheelchairs will also be available. The total investment amounts to 120.143, 32 euros.

Ms. Atencia also stated that according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health of la Junta de Andalucía, the health status of the bathing waters in the town of Nerja is “excellent”, which is the maximum score awarded to beaches in Andalucía.
