Local walker Maria Pérez, a member of the Club Nerja de Atletismo.Cueva de Nerja-Uma, finished fourth in the European Junior Championships held in Eskilstuna, Sweden.
Pérez also bettered her own national Spanish record for the ten kilometres, setting a new mark of 44’19″05. Her previous record was 45’40″04.
