Plans by the Department of Coasts to reclaim maritime-terrestrial public land and construct promenades in Torre de Benagalbón and at El Playaza in Nerja have reportedly stalled, at least in the short term.
Both municipalities changed political colour after the recent elections and, quite naturally, this has led to the new governments taking different views on certain matters.
In Nerja, the new government has reportedly said that it cannot finance the third phase of the project, the actual construction of a 700 metre promenade. The cost of the construction has been put at 5.5 million euros.
At this stage it looks as though nothing is likely to happen in either town until at least 2017, especially if new projects have to be formalised.
