At this moment, strikes by baggage handlers are due to take place during September as the unions flex their muscles, with Easyjet and Vueling likely to be the most affected by the industrial action.
Currently, strikes at Málaga airport have been called as follows:
The 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of September from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 18:00 to 21.00. The 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th of September from 08:00 to 11:00 hours and from 20:00 until 23:00 hours.
Menzies Aviación Iberica SA, who handle baggage and provide other services, and the Trade Unions CCOO, UGT and USO have been negotiating a new collective agreement. However, the company reportedly want to postpone discussions until a later date, prompting the Unions to show their power by calling strikes during the peak season.
