The Council and the DGT have been holding an urgent meeting to refresh the Bilateral Agreement for Mutual Cooperation which, although signed in 2013, was in danger of lapsing through an apparent lack of communication between the two bodies.
This reported lack of communication during the intervening period has meant, according to the DGT, that Nerja has been deprived of a number of services enjoyed by neighbouring municipalities.
These include various road safety ‘campaigns’ and vehicles for use during such operations as well as the supply of breathalysers.
