After two open meetings, the Integrated Strategy for the Sustainable Urban Development of Nerja has been published and the public now has ten business days to evaluate the submitted projects.
The proposals are divided into five areas:
- Economic Development
- Urban and Environmental Development
- Open Government
- Social Welfare and Culture
- Sport and Leisure
Projects include the expansion of Plaza Maro, construction of a training centre, setting up a Local Employment Agency, a programme of alternative emergency accommodation, reclaiming and renovating the Giner de los Rios Centre and the construction of a marina at the mouth of the rio Chillar.
The items, 33 in total, are all listed on a form on the municipal website where any resident of Nerja can rank the various projects on importance and necessity. The questionnaire is in Spanish.
