Municipal operatives and Civil Protection volunteers have reportedly managed to remove the graffiti from the rocks and trees along the upper reaches of the rio Chillar.
High pressure water jets were used to remove what has been an eyesore for a number of years and, in some cases, was causing damage to the trees in the area.
The rio Chillar is popular with hikers, particularly during the summer months, but this also unfortunately results in the antisocial acts of daubing paint on rocks and trees, the discarding of rubbish (800 kilos was collected recently) and the hurling of shoes over the power and telephone wires.

The local council should be responsible for keeping the area clean and tidy not volunteers
