After much work and investment, the new Fire Station is expected to be operational before this summer.
The station that will be located in an area of 3’631.66 square meters, was financed in part by the City of Nerja, and the Provincial Council of Malaga.
Situated near where the N340 coastal road meets the motorway access road MA5105, the Fire Station will be in a prime location to serve Torrox, Frigiliana, El Morche, Maro and Nerja itself.
Although the plan was hindered for years due to financial challenges, in the last 12 months the large project moved forward at speed and should be fully functional by the Spring.
The building that will consist of two distinct parts, will be much more suited for the needed equipment and transport requirements.
This move will allow for the Civil Protection to move in to the current premises of the fire station, which is now located near the road leading to Burriana beach.
