Mel Gibson was in the Malaga province with his partner, Rosalind Ross last week visiting popular towns and attractions. Both arrived on the first morning flight from Madrid and stayed at a five – star downtown hotel. The film star and director was spotted by one lifelong fan who even got the opportunity to take a quick selfie with the actor and uploaded it to a social network, stirring up much interest, as locals rushed to get a glimpse of the visiting celebrity.
Gibson, now sporting a luxuriant grey and white beard and was wearing sunglasses, was almost unrecognizable, as he attempted to blend into the crowd. However Ronda resident, Natividad García, saw him in a coffee shop and approached him simply asking “Mel”? Natividad felt privileged to get a photograph with the actor and said that he even paid for her coffee.
On another day out, during his visit to the Alhambra, which lasted nearly three hours, Gibson and Ross were seen in the queues, again trying to blend in with the crowds. After lunch and back to the hotel to rest, the couple were seen catching a taxi to go to the House of Flamenco Art.
Local rumour has it that the actor / director has been looking for his next suitable locations to shoot a future movie whilst on holiday in southern Spain, and visiting attractions such as Granada’s Alhambra.
Other famous stars visiting Spain last week was Arnold Schwarzenegger, in an unrelated visit. Schwarzenegger was photographed shopping at an El Corte Inglés shopping centre……accompanied by body guards of course.
