On June 4th Martin Robinson, from Canillas de Albaida will attempt to swim over 200 lengths of Competa swimming pool. Last year Martin was diagnosed with bowel cancer himself and after a major operation and exhausting and demanding chemotherapy he wants to raise money for the charity so that he can assist others to receive the same care he has.
“Cudeca has helped support me in so many ways, “he said.” The swim is just a small, personal way to thank everyone who has helped me.”
“I have always been so fit, active and healthy. Therefore it was a huge shock to discover I had cancer, “he explained.” Volunteers and health professionals from Cudeca were always on hand to offer help and advice.”
Competa Town hall are supporting the event with officials providing a lifeguard and are opening the swimming pool in the afternoon for the fundraising swim.
Everyone is invited to support Martin and sponsor forms will be circulated by a team of helpers on the day.
