From today, high volume tourist zones have permission to extend the days and hours they open during summer. Many visitors to the area who are familiar with shops in their country being open on Sundays, will welcome the news that large supermarkets throughout the region also have the opportunity to open on Sundays during this time period. Most supermarkets will also choose to extend the weekday opening hours until 10:00pm opposed to 9:30pm, although this may only be until the first week of September. The implementation of the temporary removal of the opening hours restriction also coincides with the start of the traditional summer sales period, which this year presented with better forecasts than in previous years
