A speed campaign will be in force from today by the Department of Security to ensure road safety in Nerja is tightnened. Excessive speeds have been blamed for numerous accidents within the Malaga province endagering the lives of the many cyclists that enjoy the vacinity as well as many pedestrians in the built up areas. Police are campaigning that drivers become more responsible behind the wheel and are exhorting that they comply with all traffic rules including obedience to speed signs and not crossing over a fixed white lines. Speed checks will be made on vehicles entering and leaving Nerja at various times of the day to help improve road safety and prevent traffic accidents.
