A new ambulance service provided by Nerja Council will be available for emergencies that may occur across Nerja’s beaches during peak summer season.
The ambulance service which is based at Burriana Beach, has been created to improve the safety of Nerja’s beach areas and will be available 24 hours a day.
The council report that the ambulance is equipped with the most modern means of medical assistance and is staffed with trained medical personnel, who will help deal with any incidents that occur on the territory of Nerjas coast & beaches.
Linda Maria says:
Yes it is a great idea but what happens if the patient needs hospital treatment, WHERE will they take them, ?
1 º Nerjas health centre (ambulatorio ) providing they carry a health card its free ( actually its not free Spain submit their costs to the EU )
2 º Torre del Mar national health centre Hospital ( very good ) with health card and /or insurance
3º Rincon Hospital by Supersol supermarket West Nerja where they can charge …This is a PRIVATE hospital not a national health centre, and should state private in my opinion.
Be care full and always ask where you are going and if your card will cover and your insurance if you have one.
