On Thursday, at around 3:15 pm, the fire started near Maro Cliff. It affected several reed beds and local vegetation before members of plan INFOCA arrived. Two helicopters, a fire truck, and fourteen firefighters were needed to mitigate the flames. Plan INFOCA reported they got the flames under control at around 8:00 pm that night. The impacted area is reported to be a hectare in a low vegetation zone of Maro Cliff. The cause is still unknown, but it is hypothesized to be due to incorrectly burnt stubble.
