This laboratory organized by Nerja Town Hall has been set up to raise awareness of oceanography and the biodiversity of the seas and oceans.
The “Travelling Marine Laboratory”, which is aimed at all ages but especially young ones, has taught the ins and outs of the “big blue”, with such topics as the water cycle, climate change and the depths of the sea.
The aim of this marine laboratory is to instill in people the need to care for and respect the seas with a particular emphasis on responsible water use in general.
70 children from the Nerja Summer School, along with family groups, beach users, residents of Nerja and visitors of different nationalities have participated in the fun yet educational activities which promote enjoyment of the beach in such a way that the marine flora and fauna of the breakwater is preserved.
