After an initial clean-up in early July, the second sweep of the Chillar River area has just been completed.
In the intervening period, thousands of trainers have been collected which visitors throw into the existing wiring to celebrate their passing by the famous river walk.
The Chillar River is a unique area with an enormous wealth of scenery and is a lure for hikers.
The City Council have requested cooperation from the public in order to promote peaceful coexistence and to help maintain the natural environment.
Next September a new cleaning device will be installed that will put a special emphasis on the riverbed.
