The Beach Council of Nerja town has been granted €100,560.10 to improve beaches & equipment in the municipality. The project has different objectives such as creating a sheltered shaded area and improving accessibility by installing concrete walkways and acquiring adapted equipment. Installing rubbish collection containers with covers also forms part of the project.
Another key improvement will take place at Burriana Beach, where the existing toilets will be completely improved and the first aid post overhauled.
The project forms part of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Program for Andalucía (Submeasure 7.5, Operation 7.5.2) of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, the Ministry of Tourism and Sport and the Junta de Andalucía. Other improvements to Nerja are currently underway for the benefit of all.
