All across Europe Ryanair cabin crew unions are threatening to call strikes during the peak holiday travel season this summer.
Union leaders in Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Spain are demanding that the low-cost airline must stop using Irish labour laws for its staff and to adapt to the regulations of the countries where it’s cabin crew are based.
Ryanair meanwhile claims that negotiations are going well, while the largest cabin crew union Spain’s Sitcpla call talks pointless so long as mediators claim they have a legitimate claim yet nothing is put on paper.
Following a meeting, Monday night Spanish union spokesman Ernesto Iglesias told reporters his members would strike if Ryanair refused to meet their demands by June 30th.
