After having been closed for years the Old San Francisco market in Vélez has once again opened its doors to the public.
Following an extensive reform, the newly invigorated market will feature a gastronomic and artisan workshop.
Installations inside the market will include a kitchen where cookery workshops will be held as well as an audio-visual area showcasing regional delicacies. In total, the market will have ten food stalls selling, vegetables, meats and sweets together with a bar selling local wines, craft beers, teas and coffee. The other area of the market has been put aside for stalls that feature textile design, restoration, ceramic art and glass crafts.
Initially, the market will be open from 12:00 to 19:00 on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and from 12.00 until midnight on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The cafeteria will be open from 07:30, and the bakery, from 08:00.
These are only provisional hours and are subject to change once the market gets going and can establish a suitable schedule that adheres to public demand.
