As many as 3000 cancer patients a year will benefit from radiotherapy sessions following the donation of 5 linear accelerators (LINAC), by the Amancio Ortega Foundation.
Amancio Ortega is a Spanish billionaire businessman. He is the founder and former chairman of Inditex fashion group, best known for its chain of Zara clothing and accessories shops.
Two of the accelerators will go to the Málaga Regional Hospital, while the other three will be given to the Hospital Clinico Universitario.
“We are going to experience a tremendous jump in radiotherapy quality because we will be able to treat oncology patients that currently we cannot,” highlighted radiotherapy experts at Hospital Clínico.
These very high standard machines will enhance the already outstanding treatment that is on offer at Malaga regional hospital.
