The town of Estepona has begun introducing perfumes to its street cleaning water in the hope of making its streets smell like fruit.
The idea is to make people think that aroma is natural and that the town just smells as though it is alive with flowers and fruit trees.
Two trucks have been out since the 1st of July with the perfumed laced water washing the streets once in the morning and then again in the afternoon.
“Walkers who cross through the centre of Estepona excite many of their senses when discovering the multiple charming corners, flower-laden streets and mural-adorned plazas,” said deputy mayor Blas Ruzafa, “now their sense of smell will also be invigorated.”
The trucks will be out twice a day for the remainder of the summer.
